From episode: Exchanging our Pursuit for Significance
There's one more meditation that I think would be really helpful coming from Daniel 12:2-3, where it talks about the resurrection into eternal life. The Bible encourages us to put our minds on heavenly things. And eternal life isn't somewhere off in the future. It is here with us now because eternity is now. So, imagine you are in heavenly places in the river of life, and you're standing in that river, and you pass some things, and there's a man in white linen (from Daniel 12), it's Jesus, and he is up above, hovering above the river. There are also the cherubim on either side of the river (like on the top of the Ark of the Covenant). That means there's mercy in the middle (the mercy seat). And here you are in heavenly places, eternity, resurrection, eternal life. And there's hope forever and ever. And I want you, if you can, stand up and do a little prophetic act, and you're watching those things that you're giving up float down the river away from you, and just going to Jesus that you didn't want, those things that we were attaching our significance to. And so you turn around, and that's your prophetic act. It's very simple. Just turn your body around, and here are these areas of significance (purpose, life in Christ) that are coming toward you now. They're just moving toward you. And here comes one that's wrapped in a box. It looks like a present. It's just flowing down the river, and that river, let's look at that for a second. Here's this river, and it's coming from the throne room of God, and it's coming from underneath the throne. It's God's throne. And it's just flowing, flowing down. Here comes this box. It looks like a present, and I want you to grab it, because now it's coming to you. It's not something flowing away from you. It's something flowing toward you, and this is you rooted in Christ, grounded in his love. And you pick up the box, open it up, and look for what's inside.
I'm just hearing the word garment, and that may not be what you experienced, and that's totally okay, but if it is, then I suggest maybe putting it on, clothed in his garments, come from the throne room.
And if it's something else, maybe you can clothe yourself with it. Maybe there's some way that you can see yourself with it. The Father is always handing out identity, and maybe the Holy Spirit is taking you in a completely different direction. I just want to say that's completely okay. I'm gonna leave you with this to meditate, to consider, to be inspired by God. Bless you.
